Douglas Hilbun, PHR, SHRM-CP
Douglas (Doug) Hilbun is a dynamic Human Resources Management Professional with a passion for excellence and an empowering leadership style. A majority of Doug’s experience is in the hospitality industry, where he held roles as Regional Human Resources Manager, Director of Human Resources, and Assistant Director of Human Resources, for companies such as Piccadilly Cafeterias, Inc., Fairmont Hotel New Orleans, Doubletree by Hilton New Orleans, Renaissance Hotel Baton Rouge, and Dimension Development Group. Doug believes his decade of operations management experience in the hotel and restaurant industry has helped him be an effective and knowledgeable Human Resources Leader, with a focus on customer service.
As an HR Generalist Doug has experience in all areas of Human Resources, with emphasis in the following areas: Employee Relations, Recruiting, Training, Payroll & Compensation, Strategic Planning, Succession Planning, and Worker’s Compensation. He has a passion for providing career development opportunities to his teams.
Doug has been PHR Certified with HRCI for 21 years and SHRM-CP Certified with SHRM for 5 years. He studied Business Administration at Louisiana State University and has a B.S. in Hospitality Management from the University of New Orleans. Doug is also Train the Trainer and Harassment Free Workplace Certified by Hilton Worldwide and Marriott Brand Training Certified. He has completed the SHRM HR Generalist Certificate Program and Legal Aspects of Recruiting & Interviewing.
Doug has experience with many business applications and HRIS including: Microsoft Office, ADP, PeopleSoft, Paycor, TalentReef, Netchex, Gorrie Regan, Efficenter, Newton, Taleo, Attendance Enterprise, and SuccessFactors.
He has been a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) for over 20 years. Doug has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, for over 5 years. He has helped his local, award-winning Knights of Columbus Council feed thousands of hurricane and other disaster victims from across Louisiana, Texas, and Florida.
When not working, Doug enjoys cooking, traveling, gardening, and attending & watching LSU sporting events with his family and friends. He gets satisfaction from making others laugh and is a good listener.
